How Can severe Headache be Treated?

Hi, I have had a really bad headache for the past two weeks now on the left side of my head. At, first it was all through my head and now it s just on the left side of my head. I go to school completely fine ad by 10 am it starts to hurt and lasts all day long. I tried to get sleep, drink more water, and eat. I even tried taking medicine and nothing is helping. at times it makes my eyes water and all I ever want to do is put my head down and press the side of my head. sometimes I try to sleep but I can t sleep. later it will go away and sometimes it will come back or it will happen all over again the next day. Please help me. I don t know what to do to stop it.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to the health care magic

First of all for headache rule out hypertension by measuring blood pressure....

Check your refractive error by checking with ophthalmologist....

In unilateral headache I need history about whether pain associated with nausea, flashes of light present?? Like history....
This is to rule out migraine problem...
(In this condition rizatriptan like drug needed if ibuprofen not working)

Check ear and tooth infection as they can lead referred headache...

Excess stress, prolonged working over computer can lead tension headache

So if stress related issue present then you can Consult psychiatrist for that

Take care

Hope your concern solved
